NEW JERSEY DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY ANNUAL REPORTS
"FIRE IN NEW JERSEY"
This page contains annual reports as complied by the State of New Jersey
Department of Community Affairs
Division of Fire Safety.
These reports are reviewed by the Statistics & Information Council for the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety.
The data presented
in these reports reflects the pain and sacrifice experienced by the victims of fire,
the loss of jobs, and the destruction in our communities where the fires
occurred. The purpose of this report is to raise our awareness of the impact
that fire has on our state. Once the problems are identified steps can be
taken to solve them.
In addition to describing the fire problem, the data in
this report show that fire department personnel respond to a wide range of
emergencies.
In many communities throughout the state, fire departments are
first responders to emergency medical calls, motor vehicle and industrial
accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and other potential life threatening
emergencies.
Firefighters and fire officers, both career and volunteer, are responsible for
the data in this report. They are the ones who complete the necessary reports
documenting the incidents to which their fire department responds.
The
Statistics and Information Council is grateful to these dedicated individuals.
The New Jersey Division of Fire Safety Fire Incident Reporting Unit Staff should be acknowledged for their
work in processing the incident data, assisting fire departments with
technical support, and fire department training.
